STUDIO140 ITALIAN ARTS&CRAFTS
Studio 140 is an incredible journey into the knowledge of our artistic heritage, through the magical combination of restoration, art, nature and sensations.
Emanuele Pricolo, designer of the company, in twenty-seven years of activity in the world of art, as a restorer of paintings and protagonist of important works on works of famous authors of Italian and foreign heritage for public and private commissions, he has inherited the fundamental secrets of art and aesthetics. In order to acquire this expertise, Emanuele trained by working with great masters of the sector, frequenting some of the most important restoration workshops; in learning the discipline, he made much of the secrets of the craft that only an intense approach can give. Parallel to this activity, Emanuele began frequenting some of the studios of important artistic exponents of the ‘Roman scene’, thus acquiring a profound, even unconventional knowledge. But perhaps most importantly, they teach him to listen to his own emotions, so that he can give them a face, with the conviction that what is made can have a soul capable of telling. To complete his training, an activity in an art gallery in Rome allowed Emanuele to work and specialise in the field of contemporary art, with handmade furniture and increasingly refining his aesthetic taste. Moreover, his indissoluble bond with nature and in particular his passion for horses is still a source of great inspiration today.
I am aware that I am preserving an artistic heritage that is the result of a rare educational experience, and I also know that probably, without doing something, one day all this could be lost. Today my goal is therefore to revive, through the creation of designer furnishing objects, the artisan culture of the past; that culture capable of telling the stories and poetry of Italian artists and artisans to the world
And the sensation generates an emotion that wants to be told and somehow fixed, so as not to be forgotten.
This is how each product is born, a bit like the telling of a story that talks about personal, unique and unrepeatable experiences.
Memories, emotions that are freed and take shape becoming unique pieces. Smells and perfumes stolen from the countryside, secrets and techniques of great post-war artists acquired firsthand, the colors of ancient paintings, contemporary art and an indissoluble bond with nature, each work is a synthesis of all this and aims to convey a tradition that no longer exists and, thanks to technique, unite it with contemporary art.
Each product you find on these pages is therefore not born from technological research, but from the need to express a wealth of experience through emotional research.
The colors are the result of in-depth knowledge thanks to the restoration of the paintings, the materials are pristine, not recycled and are personally aged by the artist, which is why every work and every detail is unique.

Emanuele Pricolo
How many times have we heard from one of our parents or a family member, referring to a certain piece of furniture or accessory, saying: “do you see that piece of furniture? A famous carpenter made it and it’s all made of solid wood and you know how much I paid for it….. at the time it was a lot of money…” It was exactly like that, once upon a time the value of an object made by a craftsman lasted forever, even beyond the person’s lifetime, after which the memory of it was always retained. Once upon a time, great esteem was held for those who masterfully practiced the profession of craftsman, this is because with them the culture and history of Made in Italy was passed down, that history that made us famous throughout the world. Today in the new generations this icon of craftsmanship that we once had has almost been lost and with it also the idea of what it represented, this to give space to products for mass consumption and identification for the masses. In my case I have always kept this meaning alive and with it the cultural value preserved, and this is why, in the last twenty-five years of my life, I have dedicated myself to acquiring various artisanal stage arts. Reviewing this path it seems to have happened almost by chance, even if the wise men of the past said that we make the case…..
